Beauty Love // Skincare Favorites
Hello Lovelies!
Today I wanted to share my absolute favorite skincare products. I have finally found a system that is working for me, and I think I have some golden items that everyone could use.
A bit about my skin - I have oily skin, I suffer from a bit of redness and occasional spots. My huge issue has always been the oil, it tends to clog my pores and can really break up my makeup. In the past I treated my skin, well, let's just say I was a bully. I ended up over stripping my skin with products, and as a result my skin produced
even more
oil. It took me years to understand what was going on, but since I started treating my skin like it was normal to dry the oils have been so much more under control.
So, if you have dry skin, normal skin, and oily skin, most of these products will work for you! So lets get started!
In the morning I use the
Michael Todd Honey and Oat Gentle Daily Cleanser
whilst in the shower. Thus stuff is worth everyyyyy penny. I received a sample in my Birchbox years ago, and I don't know why it took me so long to buy it. It just took a 2 days of using it and I noticed a massive difference in my skin. Paul and I both use it, and the bottle lasted us from November until the beginning of March.
I follow up with the
Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel
post shower on a cotton round. Toners help the products you apply after to absorb better, and work to exfoliate your skin removing dead skin cells and oils that regular cleansing usually doesn't.
To complete my morning routine I use the Air Repair Complexion Boosting Moisturizer. I'm moderately obsessed with this product - I'm on my 3rd bottle and I can't stop. It is very thick, but absorbs soooo nicely and does not break me out at all. Plus my makeup sits very nicely on top. I don't care what type of skin you have, you need this in your life. I use this moisturizer in the evening as well. If you are super oily, you could use it only at night.
The only thing I change in the evening is the cleanser. At night I've been trying out the
Neutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil. This stuff is thee sh*t. No joke. You put it on dry skin, massage it in. It emulsifies with water and turns a milky and rinses clean. It takes all my makeup off without stripping it, and leaves my skin so soft.
On less regular basis I add in a few extra products, these are not things I'd recommend for anyone with dry skin. If I feel like I'm having some bad skin coming I'll use the Stridex pads for a little medication and extra exfoliation. Once or 2x a week I'll use the Origins Charcoal mask. This mask is intense, definately not for anyone with dry skin. The first time I used it, my skin got worse. I was like, what?! BUT it was pulling all the crap from deep in my skin up and out. Now I don't have any issues when I use it, and it helps keeps my oil at bay. I have heard plenty of people hate the Origins mask, and I get it. They say a product should not make you break out, ever, but if you keep up using it on a regular basis I think the results are great.
There is only one things really missing for me. Anti-aging. This girl is getting fine lines... I have a ton of eye cream samples from Birchbox, Ipsy, Sephora etc. but I haven't found a favorite. So, if you have any anti-aging skincare favorites do share!
