Playroom Mood Board

We are making some major progress on the soon-to-be playroom and office. Paul is still hard at work painting, but we finally have walls that are not yellow! It has bee a long time since I shared what this room looked like when we bought the house… so here she is in all her yellow and green glory on the left below. Different view on the right, but man, paint makes it look so much better.

Now I know some people paint their room in a weekend, but that is just not us. We had to the paint the ceiling, trim, doors, and finally the walls. That is just not a weekend warrior type of project. We’ve picked out our flooring as well as our wall color but the rest still to be decided. I’ve mocked up a plan so we could have a visual of each piece I was thinking about.

The couch above is IKEA, which I am actually really excited about because I’ve read some great reviews and the cover can come off and be washed. The rug is from Ruggable, and can be washed in the washing machine too! See a trend? I want to be able to wash it all!

Overall, I’m really excited about where the room is headed. The painting should be done this week, and I think that means flooring starts next weekend and should only take the weekend! After that the trim still needs to be painted and replaced, and then the bathroom needs put back together, but overall we are making huge strides. I think we will be taking a trip to IKEA over spring break to pick up the couch and a few other items so we still have some time before a finished room will be revealed.
