2020 Goals
Ah, 2020. We finally meet, and shockingly there are no flying cars or monkeys integrated into society like I predicted when it turned 2000 in 4th grade. I have this distinct memory of my teacher giving us a writing prompt of what we thought society would be like in the year 2020. Anyone else do something similar?
Alas, here we are a month into 2020 and I’m just going to be boring and share with you our home and a few personal goals for the year. Same as always, we NEVER get through the whole list in a year. Either we over plan, or we stink at sticking to a list.
Home
Playroom / Sewing room- why yes, this was on the list last year and didn’t get done. It is happening this year.
Paint walls
Paint ceiling
Paint trim
Install new floors (and subfloor)
Built-in desk
Furniture + storage
New lights
Bathroom (downstairs) - this was the first project we did when we bought our house. It has a leak in the ceiling that needs fixed, and it is off the playroom so we are installing the new flooring in there as well.
Demo!
Fix ceiling
Paint
New flooring
Re-install vanity
New toilet
Nursery - Our sweet baby girl coming in July needs a room. I’d love to get it done before she is born… and not 4 months after like Theo’s room. She’ll be bunking with us for the first 4 - ? months but I’d still like to have a space ready for her.
Paint closet
Install closet organization
Paint room
New rug
Curtains
Paint dresser
New light
Decorate! (I feel like this is such a long list…)
Outdoor Playset - the main reason for moving the garden boxes last year was to make room for an play area for kids. We’ll likely just buy one you assemble yourself, but I can’t wait to get it done for Theo to play on all summer.
Patio Steps - We’ve had a door with a steep drop-off for a few years now, and it is time we get it fixed, so Theo can run down those steps to get to his new play set.
Kitchen - maybe…. last year we had plans for a big makeover in the kitchen that we never got around to. This year if we get it all painted (ceiling, trim and walls) I’d call it a win.
How about you? Set any goals for 2020 or DIY projects to get done?
